This might be a stunt - which might not be working out...
Dude just
walked out with two guitars an nuttin' happened? Crazy.
I'm sure he was too baked to notice.
Well, I guess it's free crack for Chicago! Come get yer guitars and rock posters - easily convertible to Euros! That means you Strawberry! What's a Euro? No. No, it's not a danish. It's money. Anyway,
I just wonder why Fred Merkin would plant some stupid post on the PRF and let it go to this extreme...

But at least a few of you are still saving up, no doubt.

I hate to bump this thread, but I have to.
Last night, on a local access show called "Chicago Revealed" (the same show that once used a Polvo song as their background music during a piece on a record store that doesn't even have any Polvo records) I saw a bit on Fred Mangan.
I was flipping channels and saw Fred playing the big aluminum circle guitar. He was talking about how aluminum is special and how it can have a really great sound when done properly. And as soon as he started playing the guitar, I was like "wow, that metal pick you're using *does* sound good!".
Found it on YouTube.

Seriously, that's the sound of a metal pick more than of any specific guitar, right?
Anyway, it was nice to see on teevee, and interesting to see the stuff I missed in the beginning. Enjoy!

One question: Why the fuck would anyone want to buy a guitar built buy a guy who can't play to save his life? I was curious so I asked my cack to give a little what for, and sure enough, my cack plays circles around this asshole. Not literally. Figuratively.

Purely in the interest of being historically accurate, I have to point out that Leo Fender couldn't play at all. Of course, he did work closely with actual players (Bill Carson, Freddie Tavares who was on staff, etc.) and treated their feedback seriously. (Since Fred seems to be more in the business of doing one-offs, it'd be less likely for him to do that kind of beta-and-refinement process.)

This Fred guy doesn't even know what he wants from a factory guitar...
The guy can barely play a bar chord. I'm serious. He can't play. He said he had a guitar as a kid. What the fuck did he do with it? Did he use it as a blender?
...for the love of Mike.

edit after re-watching: I didn't notice anything too horrible with his playing.
anyhow, I thought these guitars sound kinda nice.

my thoughts exactly. I thought he played well even. the riffs were pretty stock and not anything close to mindblowing. but he obviously can play well enough.
