Somebody at this show actually asked Bob during Q & A if they would "party" with them after the show.
This was a very unique Shellac set in my opinion. It had a beautiful mood that was a bit different than the usual, and I found it quite enjoyable. Heard a few things that I'd never heard before, which was a thrill.
What's up with the bad questions in Milwaukee? It was kinda dissapointing. The highlight was the kid standing in front of Steve who's mom put him up to asking if Steve wanted to ride his scooter, to which Steve replied "Hey kid, ask your mom how much she's chargin for Around The World these days." After asking the kid if he knew what mud pants were.
By the way it was really nice to have a drink with you guys after the show Jen, Amanda and DJ. We should try that again some time soon.

42Yow! Thanks Rob, and of course the bands. And Rog! Madtown in the HOUSE! Uzeda! Fun! So great to see the Electrical guitar in such capable hands!
It was pretty amazing all the way around, except for the sad bar selection. Salut, rock star dressing room w/ many ignored quality beers! Burp!
It was hard to fathom the positive love vibes carrying over from the T&G weekend, but they did...Music is great! People are fantastic! I don't have to work today! Yay!!
Have fun feelin' Minneapolis tonight. I wish I could make a road trip.

43In no particular order:
* This was the first show I'd been to in probably 5 years. Not counting seeing Night Ranger at McHenry Fiesta Days last year. And don't be dissin' the Night Ranger.
* Rob Sieracki remembered me by sight, probably 10 years since I'd seen him last. "You're that guy who did that list of shows, right?"
* Saw some guy ask Steve to sign his copy of In Utero. I winced.
* I'd never heard the term "mudpants" before. I'd like to know what other creative terms Steve has for what I've always known as "skid marks".
* I always love watching Bobbin onstage. He's just so amiable.
* Last time I'd seen Shellac, I don't think "Copper" was even out.
* The radio song was brilliant.
* I still still still love the dual cymbal choke at the end of "A Minute." Bob told me years ago "Yeah, we recorded it that way, too".
* I met Jay Tiller, and we discussed the show that Dis- did at Shank Hall about a decade ago as Gary Numan with Couch Flambeau opening.
* I thanked Steve for his beautiful eulogy to Michael Dahlquist. It's been a while, but I just thought of it during the show, and I figured he needed to know it meant a lot.

44i'm sure i can't add much to what has been said about last nights show, but it really was perhaps the best rock show i can recall seeing. aside from some of the nerdy audience vibes exhibited during the Q&A... yeesh.
i hadn't seen Uzeda live and they were fucking amazing... seemed like great people too. the power and emotion is impressive. the shellac set was unbelievable, and entertaining as usual! great to see some of the "new" stuff played... and their set was quite long and very energetic.
thanks to all who organized the event, and mostly thanks to both the bands for coming up to little milwaukee and sharing your music. we do appreciate it for sure...
what a fun night! we had a great time- can't wait for the next studio release!

Oh, BURN.
Or, as Tipcat and I would say (being highschoolers in NYC in the 80's):
Oh, DIP.
That is definitely worthy of an "Oh, Dip!"
We must revive this.

Again, it wasn't a burn. Especially because I was able to recognize it as an LC call number. I have only the highest respect for Messrs. Sieracki et al.
Any other self-referential albums like this? Yes' 90125 is also its catalog number, although I'm sure its reissue has a new catalog number.

48Thanks Rob!
Thanks Uzeda!
Thanks Shellac!
Also, great talking to you Mr. Stack!
I was trying and trying to think of a funny question to ask during the Q&A, and as always happens to me when I try to think of something funny, I think of nothing but forced ideas. I decided to keep my mouth shut.
Uzeda was so loud I could feel my throat constricting. Incredible. I love the faces the guitar player made and the drummer's look of concentration -- the bass player had such stage presence! When the band members would smile at each other and the audience, it would make me happy! And the singer, wow... when her vocals got intense, it gave me goose bumps.
Shellac was great! Cracking wise and sounding so good. I took my cousin with me who'd never even heard of Shellac and he said he had a great time. He said that Steve was a "hot shot" -- I thought that was funny.
We took a wrong turn and took forever following detours for I-94 south back to Chicago... there is a lot of construction happening in Milwaukee! We got stuck on some side road for a while. The empty streets and unfinished highway ramps to nowhere, towering overhead, made it look like the bomb had been dropped and zombies were going to start chasing our car at any second.
I got some fresh plums in Racine at a gas station on the way home. They're delicious. I had to park the car in Rogers Park at 2 a.m. -- that took a while. I called in sick for work the next day, slacker that I am.
So glad I went!
Thanks Uzeda!

I like to refer to the current clusterfuck known as the Marquette Interchange construction as "Sarajevo."
