You misunderstand my point. My point is that if one wishes purely to talk about the anus, 'chicks', make 'manly' threats and bicker, there are a million other places to do it where it will not in any way impinge on the established users.

I've seen this film before too.

I've been posting here for about five months now and perhaps I have a radically different perspective than the seasoned vets here. But, my ignorance of the Forum's glory days seems to be an advantage right now, due to a lack of reference. All of the internet seems overrun with banal clutter, this place only slightly less. That is enough to make it golden, because still amid that banality there have been remarkable moments, my first post was one of them.

However, what seems painfully obvious to me is that those who wish to "talk about the anus, 'chicks', make 'manly' threats and bicker" are only looking to cause an uproar for attention, like a whining child. The more you placate the whining child with cookies, in this case, by replying to their posts or declaring how much youre offended by the whinig child's posts, the more you are teaching that child it's whines will be rewarded in the future. And they will continue to post.

I also found myself useing the fucking search engine quite a bit, and stumbled across the oft-referenced Save the EA Forums thread (which incidently is a fine read, like poets battling for your soul). There, too, was the same advice again and again: Don't feed the trolls.

It is that simple, is it not?

I can only say that here, a place historically, mercifully free of such things, it makes more sense to talk about "the anus, 'chicks', make 'manly' threats and bicker", because there is more of an opportunity to get attention. Elswhere on the internet their banal clutter is like spit in an ocean of banal clutter.
