I'm just not that big a fan of Weather Report. Bill Frisell is indeed awesome. I especially like Praxis. Steps Ahead I hadn't heard until just about 3 minutes ago when I Seeqpodded it. It was OK but isn't really the kind of thing I'd listen to regularly. Bit too WNUA for my taste.

Not contemporary but modern in the sense of post bop type stuff. The Arthur Doyle in particular is a very cool and not all that often talked about record.
