Moulin Rouge
Any of those Epic Movie/Scary Movie parodies of recent pop culture crap.
I saw the first part of Lord of the Rings and refuse to see any of the others.
Funny Games. I'm not interested in being condescended to for two hours.
Frankly, most Hollywood crap doesn't appeal to me and I won't watch it.

Some of the choices surprise me, I must say. There are plenty of good musicals. The Harry Potter movie directed by Alfonso Cuaron isn't bad at all, although I can understand why people would avoid that particularly overexposed franchise.
As far as Jane Austen adaptations go, the BBC Pride and Prejudice miniseries is among the best things to have ever been on television. I've watched it three or four times. The casting of Colin Firth as Darcy is perfect beyond belief. He nails that role perfectly.

ERawk wrote:They only thing good about that POS were some of Kate Winslet's dresses. I'm a sucker for pretty dresses.
Since i'll never see it, i'm only guessing, but i'm gonna take a shot in the dark and say the lack of Kate Winslet's dresses in that one scene was probably pretty sweet too.
Mmmm Kate Winslet.

Passion of the Christ. I don't want to go over all the controversies, both about the movie and what a piece of shit Gibson is himself, because they were done to death years ago and it wouldn't take long if someone wanted to find out to look them up. However, there was one thing that I felt got almost no coverage when the movie came out, which was
the merchandising for the movie.
Gibson made such a big deal about how this was a labor of love and a huge risk and how this could ruin him but he doesn't care because he's a man of faith and blah blah blah. And then he turns around and markets cheeseball, tasteless jewelry for the more gullible to buy. Total joke. Yeah, real risk there, Mel, plus bonus points for basically reducing your religion to a t-shirt like that.
WWJD, indeed.
