I remember differently:
Yardbirds: Telecaster.
John Mayall 1960 LP
Cream: 335, SG
Early solo, Derek and the Dominos, etc.: Strat
80s/90s solo: irrelevant
New Millennium: past my bedtime
that was kinda fun. Meaningless, but fun.
Frank Zappa played a Jazzmaster in the early Mothers days; countless C&W hacks play Teles. Doesn't prove nuthin'.

42We are both wrong!
Yardbirds: Gretsch Country Gentleman!
But you are right -- it proves nothing.

43I take it back! Tele it is. And yes, that Gretsch. Although that could have been from the Mayall era. Who knows?
God has clearly played way too many different guitars to be associated with any one. I mean, he's God, right?

48i watched cocksucker's blues last night and keef was playing a strat at one point. that sorta makes them an ok guitar. and gilmour playing a strat in live at pompeii helps a bit too.

Those must be Slint guitars...
I don't hate Teles... I just get peeved when people cry CRAP cause the Fender "offsets" can be a little different to set up.
Besides, Daniel Epstein plays a Tele in my band The Milford and he is none to shabby.
Also, Jeff Buckley played a Tele.
Cheers,
David

50I find that the fat neck on a tele to be uncomfortable. I had a sweet 77 american tele, but i had to sell it cuz it made my left hand spaz out and cramp up. Oh wait, that's what i call a guitar solo.
