I have no use for Shellac as a post-slint (Yes, I know Budd but I don't dig that song either) post-rock band and while 1000 hurts has several standouts, it's bogged down by some limp "indie-rock" tunes. No, I dig them when they rock out, that's what I tune in for... REALLY like the new one and that they didn't stretch out the grooves more doesn't bother me because they already done that more than enough... I dig the economy of it all

Odd, that's what I meant. It sounds really warm....

Horses for courses I guess.
It’s “warm”, it just just doesn’t sound as separated and dynamic - to me - as other albums of theirs. I should also mention it’s my favourite 😉

It’s slowly dawning on me after repeated listening To All Trains might be Shellac’s best album.
  • Best sounding record
The songwriting is tight and perfectly formed
    Musicianship - especially Todd’s - is brilliant.
The acerbic humour in the lyrics is fantastic
The vocal delivery and interplay is also fantastic
It’s basically a combo of everything that’s great about this band.

Oh, and Cowbell.
