Listened to the new single twice back to back - it’s Converge getting in yr face for a brisk 2 min slap down, but in a more direct Axe to Fall style - mean and stripped down. It’s weird how those tense intros just get you wired up instantly - it’s like my primitive fight or flight system kicks in. On one hand it’s fun and fine, on the other I don’t need to hear it again - esp the anguished vocal telling me that “love is not enough”. As my partner would scathingly say - just grow the fuck up man boy (or words to that effect)

Listened to the new one this morning. Converge is either hit or miss for me, occasionally a little too spastic and messy, this is not the case. This is a very solid record.

I don't hear lyrics or interpret them at all, which may help based on some responses below. I mean, sometimes I do, but generally they're an afterthought.

This band falls solidly in the Bands I Love in Theory But Never Listen to in Practice.

The new album is solid. I think I'll probably play it a couple of times but then anytime I need the itch scratched I'll probably just throw on Jane Doe.
