I was half-joking about Neil giving an ultimatum to Reprise Records, but not really joking about wondering why Neil hasn't publicly given Eric Clapton and Van Morrison a harder time for being idiots.

He never said what the countdown was for, but the implication was that there would be some big reveal at the end of it. Something that would blow open the whole conspiracy to the world!

It was no different than the MyPillow guy’s countdown toward the date when the Supreme Court would install Donald Trump in the White House. Both countdowns got to zero without the event happening.

Holy shit, that was a countdown? I never noticed any series to it, and thought the numbers represented something more cryptic. Wow, I feel positively illuminated!

Learning that polio was called "the crippler", I now want an epic song called "The Crippler" or maybe "The Kawartha Crippler" -- in the vein of Gordon Lightfoot's "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" or Dylan's JFK opus -- that starts with the 1951 polio outbreak hitting Neil Young at age 5, heads west to the 9-year-old Joni Mitchell in Saskatoon (according to Wiki, that's the year she started smoking, so definitely work that in). Move forward to the Covid pandemic in the later verses, with allusions to Clapton and Morrison and Rogan as a three-headed creature with half a brain between it. Get Jordan Peterson's all-beef-and-benzos diet in there. Add some Jair Bolsonaro and Ivermectin. Song writes itself.
