Re: Regional Hot Dog Shootout
41There's a place in LA that does Danish dogs, veal hot dog. Pretty great. No shrimp though. I'd be into that.
Not sure how the rules are somehow okay with sport peppers but not jalapeños. Seems more like a bending of the rules rather than breaking them.rsmurphy wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 5:18 pm A glizzy should be bean-free and bereft of jalapeños. I don't make the rules.
You're right. I'm just not a fan of peppers, heat, spiciness, etc. I should amend it to all manner of the devil's fruit. I'm cowardly in this respect.jfv wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 7:05 pm Not sure how the rules are somehow okay with sport peppers but not jalapeños. I have to admit to being a little iffy on the pinto beans, though. Ultimately, it’s not chili or ketchup, and it’s still in the original spirit of the Depression Dog, with pinto beans being a local, cheap ingredient from northern Mexico.rsmurphy wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 7:26 pmYou're right. I had no idea of these details of your palate. For some reason, I am surprised. But I guess we haven't sat down to too many meals together over our 15 plus years of online friendship. I'm always a little surprised when someone doesn't like spicy foods. I suppose it's because I like them probably an abnormal amount.rsmurphy wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 7:26 pmYou're right. Nay I say! I never understood the pleasure of searing my digestive tract while commencing to yummin'. Once I celebrated a friend's bday at an Ethiopian restaurant and nearly sobbed from the pain. Only miniscule dabs of Cholula for this guy. Please remember this when we dine on chili, bbq, and other Texan delicacies. I'll cry.trey wrote: Wed Aug 30, 2023 8:19 pm I'm always a little surprised when someone doesn't like spicy foods. I suppose it's because I like them probably an abnormal amount.
