I just read that, and man, is it grim. There is really nobody sympathetic in that circle.

The singer may not have been involved in the various scams, but demanding 40% of the touring income, while also owning most of the songwriting royalties, is a bullshit, asshole move.

Voted Live. Fuck them.

Sublime is bro hardcore played at 33 instead of 45. Awful awful band making the worst music.

The thing that made Live go the extra mile in suck was the singer's earnest Bono groaning.

It's all so amazingly dumb it's hard to believe. The telecom business WTF. I couldn't make that shit up. How stupid would you have to be to think that's a good idea?

If there's one person in any band writing all the songs and doing most of the work, I'm ok with them making more money, because work is work, songs don't write themselves, but yeah. Twice as much as the rest of the band is total crap.

I'm not offended by Sublime at all. It's not my thing but whatever.

That fucking Live song, though. At the start of this thread I didn't know about the placenta or any douchey behaviour and it's STILL the worst. THE ANGEL URPENS HER AHH-EEE-AHH-URR-ARR-EEE-AAAH-EEES. I always think of the angels at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark and the song has a similar effect.

Breakfast at Tiffany's SOMEHOW EVEN WORSE.

I always think of an interview on the radio I heard with Jaz Coleman one time.

"You write the songs, you record and produce the albums, but all band members get an equal share of the money?"
"Yeah well, heheh, if yer want yer band ta stick around, yer got to be a bit communist about it"

90% of the job is turning up.

I just read that RS article on Live. What a bunch of grifter assholes, not to mention rubes. Who would think that fiber optic cable idea was viable?

^^^^ That's what I'm saying! It didn't occur to those dummies that laying hundreds of miles of fiber optic cable is maybe more the sort of thing for an international megacorp and not a few shlubs from Nowhere, PA?

Yep it's the stuff that breaks up bands as soon as there's any actual money to be had.
