Anyone who writes such a thing probably exposes themselves to nuns and rapes puppies.

Ha ha ha. I don't even remember writing that or reading the followups, but I guess it had to have been me. I'm not normally so elitist or contentious. Must've been a bad week.

Vinegar, she is not for pork. For feeling that way, I'm not sorry. But for offending you, Carolina BBQ, I wholeheartedly apologize.

There are many good bands in Chapel Hill. Here are five. I also like the Kingsbury Manx, Caltrop, Spiderbags, and several others. Hazerai is probably the best bet if you are missing Polvo, though you could always just go to the Cradle on May 10. But if you look at Chapel Hill with a "where's the next Polvo, where's the next Flat Duo Jets" mentality, you're foolish.

So Polvo at the Cradle, May 10th, eh?
Let the rumors of stateside shows begin!

I'm biased, but the girls of the SEC are hands-down the best.

Top 5 SEC schools for beauty about campus:
1. University of Georgia

I work on this campus... that's right, 40 hours a week of hanging out in DAMN! City.

I think you mean BLAM! city.
We're playing Athens in August, and that's one of many things I like about your town.
It's our sister town.

As I said earlier, I agree that we've never quite lived up to the hype, but it is a special place, and there are always some good bands around, even if you don't know them nationally.
That said, how's Charlottesville doing in that category? Denver? Lawrence? Madison? That we've *had* a golden age is something to be proud of.

There are some good bands around here these days. The influential Idolator website's best single of the year is by a Chapel Hill band. In fact, it was...um...our band.
We tied with Nick Cave.
Unfortunately the video they link to is terrible. It's from a first gig, recorded on a camera phone. No PA. Doug and I wouldn't even be in the band for another year.
(on the subject, how do you get stuff taken off of YouTube?)
If you want to hear the actual songs, go here.
Sorry about the self promotion, but we're just a little band from a little town, and we came in ahead of Radiohead, so regardless of what it all means, we're proud of it.
