Plus it helps quickly show what the administration still has plans to do, so we can plan ahead as well.

The second one. But there is a group in the left that get very upset if you criticise Russia, China or Iran. Maybe the first two is because they have some kind of residual idea those are socialist countries… Iran, because they’re anti US/Israel. All three are run by not good people and Iran is a rightwing theocratic capitalist state.

You also have to grasp that (ironically?! not ironically?!), Trump is proposing colonising a future "West Ukraine" in an open way that far surpasses any involvement/extraction of earlier admins. So, somehow we are now talking about the carving up of a formerly sovereign state.

I know a few of these people too.

I call them "neo-tankes" because they still continue to parrot Russian talking points even after the fall of the Soviet Union and emergence of Putin as a fascist dictator. That to me is clear evidence that they're more beholden to authoritarianism than to any genuine leftist principles.

One of these folks is an old, dear friend of mine. He has leftist credentials, having written a lot of articles for CounterPunch. We got into it a number of times on Facebook, in the run-up to last year's election, because he was repeatedly and stridently telling people not to vote for Harris.

I wonder how he's feeling right now, seeing that Trump is literally advocating to clear all the Palestinians out of Gaza and bulldoze it to make way for luxury condos and hotels.

This is all just Trump blowhard nonsense. As dumb as it Resort Gaza idea... Yes, Trump is doing real bad stuff, but he's also just winging it and opening his mouth and letting the wind blow his tongue around.

It's important to separate the wheat from the chaff. I'm not sure if it's a deliberate distraction or if he's just got brain worms.

If that were the case a lot of his headbanger supporters are in for a Fallujah style quagmire on a mass scale. I think some people forget that the US is not strong enough to unilaterally throw it's weight around anymore. Trump and Co could cause a lot of damage, but in the end will face reality.

If you're suggesting that the administration that proudly razed Gaza, killed 50k (70% women and children) while at the same time denying basic humanitarian aid for the survivors.....all in the name of self-defense, was planning to rebuild Gaza for the Gazans, you can call me whatever you want.
