The guy next to me is humming randomly and tunelessly, which is awesome. I hope he can keep it up for another 6 hours.

I'm trying to broaden my horizons and open up to every kind of music possible.

So I went and downloaded a Rush album and a couple more King Crimson albums.

Prognosis: The King Crimson albums are great, but difficult to get into - one in particular is really inaccessible and totally out-there but great (Fripp's guitar tone is just brutal) - but the Rush album isn't very good. The music is interesting and even frequently ok, if not great, but the lyrics and (sigh) the vocals still drive me up the wall.

This. I stand by my assertion that HSR rocked mightily.

oOHFf. Starsailor. Not exactly what I was expecting (although how the hell do I know what to expect?) but interesting - what the hell do I do with this? Jury is out - but at least now I "get" the joke from the early Residents...

The Residents wrote:We stole this riff... from Tim Buckley
We'll steal from you. FUCK YOU.
We'll steal from you if you ever do anything

(riff = from 'Down By The Borderline' - Aha!)

Just before lunch, he was still going and the guy on the other side of me had fallen asleep and begun breathing through what sounded like a nose full of chowder. The stereo effect was delightful.

After the lunch break, I managed to get a little more personal space and some peace and quiet.
