anyone know what the pick up design in the kramers were? why did most of the owners gut them? I have p-94's in mine right now, which have quite a high output. I like them, but I wonder if there is something out there even better.

Here are a couple of pics of my new EGC.

I'll copy and paste what I already said in the "little details from your day" thread:

"It's shaped somewhat like an SG, actually closer to a Hagstrom HII-N, with a wood body and of course aluminum neck, but with a bit more meat than what Kevin usually puts on his necks. The neck is approximately telecaster-thickness. The finish on the body is a semi-transparent blue-gray, and it came out beautifully. Way more blue than gray, but I think that looks better anyway.

Rather than humbuckers like a real HII-N, I had Kevin put in single coils that are shaped like humbuckers. This was so that just in case I ever change my mind and want to put humbuckers in there, the holes are already in that shape. Plus I think the guitar looks cooler this way.

Standard gibson-styled tone/vol/3-way selector electronics."

And since then I've had a couple of band practices and it does melt faces, as expected.

Thanks again, Kevin!

Love the unique body shape and pickguard combo. That's one of the best EGCs I've seen yet. Hell, that's one of the coolest guitars I've ever seen period, EGC or otherwise. Good for you, tbone.

I have designed an Electrical guitar in my head.

It'd be a copy of a doublecut Les Paul Junior, basically, except I don't know whether I'd have a P-90 in there alone, or a humbucker as well.

Plus, the body would be Lucite. I think it'd be pretty rockin'.

Also, I must say -

Tbone, that looks like one hell of a guitar.

Maybe not up to the aluminum Jazzmaster, but close.
