I'm sure a good majority of the users here look at this as being something different than most message boards.
They come here to talk about music, movies, politics, the weather, etc...
Me, I come here to post about all those things and a bunch of stupid shit.
Hence, all the parody posts that emerge from my fingertips.
I think that having to constantly "walk on egg shells" is CRAP but this hasn't exactly been a good summer for this forum.
Quite a bit of bad and unfortunate shit has happened and I honestly don't think that this place has fully recovered from it.
Also earlier this year, the board was also plagued by a few assholes who were posting a bunch of offensive shit on here and trying to start trouble.
These people were eventually booted but I'm sure that a bad taste still lingers in the mouths of many who post here.

Yes, upon re-reading the initial post in that thread I do not necessarily see why it would be offensive to parents. The question posed was:

Yes, there are not enough options (apparently the choice "would you embrace the child immediately as though it were one of your own" should have been added) but I don't think this is an inherently offensive question. If I had just started dating someone who subsequently let me know they had a child, I might ask the same, just to get a feel for how my reaction matched up against that of others.

As for the virginity / number of partners debate, they are perhaps a bit sophomoric but I'm not sure you're qualified to take that to task. Maybe someone who has never stooped to such levels, but you, Angriest of Dragons? Making women lactate for years running? I do not think so.

I'm all for everyone pretending that we are all above talking about things sex and dating advice here, but being offended because some people are willing to admit they're not is absurd. Skip the thread, move on. Maybe go to the tech forum. Maybe start your own higher-echelon-thinkers thread to separate wheat from chaff. Getting offended is just silly.
