The drummer (Jeff) is pretend-playing the drums with real spoons, not as an act of defiance, but because he forgot his sticks.

Jefferson Prinsloo III right? I went to see the first screening of the Fugazi film with Jem Cohen answering questions at the invite of Jeff, who wore a large wig throughout, meaning anyone sitting behind him couldn't see.

Feeling pretty clever right about now.

That's how I found my set of Radio Kings- saw them on the top shelf of a display at Highlands Music in Cleveland, Ohio.

Asked if the guy would take them down for me and he said "Drum guy's out sick today. Come back tomorrow."

And I said "I'm going to Youngstown in three hours and won't be back. Let me have a look at 'em."

Complete kit, with the snare. I talked him down from $250 to $200 because, y'know, the drums were "real old."

I have never been back to Cleveland, because I suspect that there's a drum guy who was hiding those until he had some cash, and he wants my head on a spear.

I got a 1959 Gretch Double anniversary in springfield Ohio about 11 years ago in kinda the same way. $550 out the door talked down from $650.

Ohio's where to go for crazy deals obviously.
