Typically they fit into the 2 types Linus has described, but those 2 types might be condensed even further into a single group: people who lack the requisite social skills to have a normal discussion in real life, so they get kicks out of being obnoxious and pissing other people off in a scenario where they won't physically get their asses kicked or get thrown in jail.
