We're getting pounded w/ a bit more snow, so work was closed early (and the shop will probably be closed tomorrow) so I managed to squeeze in a few more operations than expected.4000- used the templates to shape the neck and headstock. lost a small chunk due to carelessness- but will rescue w/ filler. Cut the slots in the fretboard deep enough to survive radiusing (will go 12", as per ric tradition). Note- the wavey line on bottom of neck is just a tiny lip of wood leftover from rough cutting- my top bearing pattern bit is a bit shorter than the depth of the neck.acoustic- Did the same couple steps-

More cabin-fever snowbound bullshit. But making serious progress.Got the neck pocket routed and neck fitted up nice. The whole unit weighs 3 lb 14 oz as it sits.Getting to a rough shape on the neck profile--although it is killing my arm and hand (rasp work).Acoustic progress-got the top side planed to thickness and bentNeck is rough cut- working on the heel block, also doing as much shaping as I can w/ the belt sanderI also reorged my gig box, so my quilter, all pedal and cords and odds and ends all fit in that little aluminum anvil case i've been hauling around for the last 20 years. Hooray! one less thing to carry.

4000: Body is all cleaned up and has the final coat of of primer. also drilled holes for grounds/pu wires. Will drill the jack tomorrow.Neck is also finalized, primed. I spent a couple long hours yesterday leveling the board. Started the frets- I'll hold off installing the neck only because it'll be easier to take it to and from the shop- to do some of the work there. Forgive the ragged tuner holes- will clean those up w/ the reamer before paint.Acoustic: cleaned up a kink in the lower bout bend- then glued in the tail block.Neck got a coat of primer, top and back are cut to rough shape, braces are glued in on both. Also pictured -rough pickguard.

hectic weekend- so I didn't manage to take pics- but:ric has been painted- gloss black. Will start assembly next week, giving the lacquer some time to cure.acoustic- kerfing, neck and tail blocks are installed. Bracing is rough carved. This weekend I will finalize the neck joint and get the top glued on. Also building a dust collection system- although this rickety old shop is not conducive to actual cleanliness.
