Mine has started doing this weird thing where if I tap the top or the front face it makes my speakers whoof. In other words, I can hear my tapping on the amp audibly through the cabinet. No bueno. My 400RB starting dropping out. Took it to my tech who repaired the FX loop (a common problem I guess) and said that if it happened again I should just jumper the FX loop. It happened again and the jumper trick worked for a while. It just started happening again on tour. Not sure whether I should keep fucking with it or buy something else. Someone also suggested using Deoxit on the FX jacks and unplugging/plugging the jumper multiple times. Ideas?

If it is actually the FX loop, then the contacts are probably worn and the jacks need to be replaced. Or the wire is worn and intermittent.If it were mine, I'd just jumper the FX loop on the PCB with a wire, since I never use it.

And PCB = the circuit board inside, correct?Do you have a soldering iron?The quick/dirty way is to cut the red and black wires that run back to the FX loop jacks, strip the jacket back a half-inch or so, twist them together and solder them, then cover with heatshrink (or electrical tape if that's all you have).Before you solder them, you could leave them twisted together and see if that even fixes the problem. If not, then you have other issues.
