Tweez was recorded in Steve's basement, right? Without room delay and reverb tricks I guess I can see how the drums could be acoustically underwhelming, but I personally don't mind dry drums. Maybe the better direction for the remix should have been to make it sound as good as it can and not like the practice tapes, but oh well.

My real issue with it is it sounds like it was recorded on a blown out micro cassette recorder. The guitars sound like driving a lawn mower across a pile of steel chains and the drums sound like one of those little kids kits... and the songs don't make up for the bad production, but thats my opinion. I've never found much to like about it.

Studiomeda in Evanston. I have no idea what that place was like, but I think Steve did other stuff there early on as well.
