I had fun with this one, particularly
Coochie Coochie Coo which was properly spooky, fun, and seasonal. Only critique about it is they gave the creature too much airtime. I even had fun with the campy wraparound
Diet Phantasma
What’s new that's good on Shudder, Hulu, Night Flight, etc?
If you haven't watched
The Borderlands I suggest doing so tonight. Excellent (non-shaky) found footage with a solid story, characters you root for, good acting, and a unique ending that fucked me up for a bit. A+
Went to the movie house for
Good Boy. Recommended! Told from the perspective of a dog named Indy, it's a familiar supernatural tale told in a unique way. Decent spooky vibes, depressing, and the goodest boy. Be sure to stick around for post credits where the director with his own dog, Indy, explain the filmmaking process.
I’m going to see Good Boy today, and I swear on all that is holy, if that dog dies I am coming after you monsters

Good Boy is quite a directorial debut…I’m excited to see what Ben Leonberg gets into next. The “goodest boy” deserves the Oscar.

Possession (1981)
I think I watched it during lockdown, or at least some of it. Watched it at the bar for movie night last week. Pretty fucked up!

A favorite of mine. I wish more of the director's stuff was more easily available. Actually, I haven't looked in a while...

Agreed on both points. Cosmos and Possession are the only ones I see pretty regularly available to stream. One could always ... sail the high seas.
I finally watched Triangle (2009) with Melissa George of Mulholland Drive / In Treatment after putting it off several years. It's OK. Some good ideas, and her performance is good, but overall I see why it flopped. It's got some rough edges. For that kind of movie, it has to be pretty tight and elegant.

I enjoy Triangle a great deal. Just rewatched it maybe a couple of months ago. It turned me on to
Timecrimes, another good loopy sci-fi trip.
Was looking forward to
Traumatika was let down by
Traumatika. I have yet to watch
Vicious from director Bryan Bertino, a fave, but am expecting the same letdown.

The Ugly Stepsister is decent enough, maybe a teeeensy bit overhyped. Norwegian. Kinda Substance-y. A little bit funny. One scene in particular made me wince. B+
Finally watched this last night and I was surprised how much I liked it…though not much of a horror movie, unless gross-out alone makes horror, it was really funny, solid acting, and it looked fantastic.

The CGI in Welcome to Derry is such a bummer.
