Scalding noted, will revisit.

Really? So what music do you like? Let me guess Shellac.
I'm not that into Shellac either.. I just find Slayer to be atonal horseshit, ok?

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is a chore to get through in one sitting. I've never done it.
Haute Tension est merde
Guillermo del Toro bores me (kinda interested in Frankenstein remake somewhat)
The Autopsy of Jane Doe is shit
I would be happy with never seeing Nic Cage in another horror movie. He sucks in them.
Wolf Creek is crap
Friday the 13th...whatever
Child's Play 👎
The Black Phone...don't answer
The Babadookie
Scream...don't care
Pinhead looks silly. Least terrifying least sexy cenobite.
Army of Fartness
I agree with everything you say here, apart from The Ring. It was so refreshingly unnerving in its time, although I have to say Pulse is my favorite of that era's J-horrors.

And you weren't strong enough on Guillermo del Toro for me. He seems like a nice guy, but I truly hate his hacky, tacky crap.

Completely agree with this as a critique of Slayer’s guitar solos. Everything else is just so good that it outweighs them.

Slayer's solos are great and totally within their aesthetic. No idea what you Blues Lawyers (Aluminum Edition) are talking about.

Slayers atonality is completely intentional. Doesn't mean one has to enjoy it but it's definitely missing the point.

FWIW. Slayers debut "Show no mercy" has pretty standard, 80s metal solos that are in key and everything for the most part. The ugly thing started with the "Haunting the Chapel"-12" and Kerry Kings solo on its title track in particular. I dig the style in the context of Slayers songs and I think it adds an element of chaos and unpredictability to an otherwise very tight and rigid delivery but I agree that if you want *memorable*, tasteful/classy/whatever solos, they are pretty awful, especially when King goes at it with the whammy bar... it almost sounds like a mean-spirited parody of the 80s shred aesthetic...

I was born 15 years to late. Like Wipers a lot. How about Curve? Ever checked them out?

There is a weird kind of proto-incel vibe to some of the material.
I understand the appeal of being aggressive and stupid and stupidly aggressive and aggressively stupid when you're a teenager. It feels like freedom (even if it isn't).

What I don't understand is attending the punk rock nostalgia festivals in Las Vegas or wherever. I don't begrudge the reformed bands the opportunity to pay some bills, but the rest is lost on me.
