"When Seasons Change" is my favorite Curtis Mayfield song. Side one of that record is perfect: "Billy Jack," "So in Love," . . .

BER,
How is that Dennis Wilson?

Daunting. I'll get back to you.

After years of searching, I finally got ahold of Crowd Control and Out Of The Tunnel by MX-80.

Since I've almost worn out my vinyl of Hard Attack, I'm probably gonna wear out the CD of these. Oh yeah.

Sold almost all of my treasured lps in a freak-out a few years ago. Now ready to rebuild, albeit in a much more limited, healthy way. Starting by looking for specifically Chicago records from my formative years.

Last week I found both of these in Chicago shops:

Original Tweez on Hartman
Original Throb Throb

Feels fucking great to hold/play these slabs again!

(Anyone got a metal Bulldozer for sale?)

Would love to buy the Bottomless Pit ep but have not seen it in shops yet... Tmidgett, 'sup?

just bought my roommate's record collection. i'm keeping about ten and selling the other 150 or so. mostly indie stuff that i already have or don't want, but there were some keepers:

beach boys - pet sounds (ltd capitol 180g re-issue)
love will tear us apart (fac us)
american analog set - know by heart
american analog set - promise of love
will oldham - forest time 10"
grandaddy - he's simple, he's dumb, he's the pilot 12"
big star - radio city
magnolia electric co. - s/t
slint - 10"
flaming lips - hear it is (first pressing)

the stuff i just listed on ebay varies (rocky horror org. picture disc, replacements "let it be" orig. on twin tone, notwist, etc. etc.), but i should more than make back what i paid for the collection. so it's almost like getting the stuff i chose to keep for free!

from bands at BereaFest 3:

Super Bobby - without bug spray, bugs stay

from BORIS last week:

Boris with Merzbow - Megatone CD on Inoxia
Boris - Heavy Metal Me DVD on Diwphalanx
Boris tour poster by Burlesque
Torche LP + Nachtmystium LP + Boris t-shirt + poster for a good friend of mine

from an online record store:

On vinyl:

Lou Reed: Coney Island Baby
Silkworm: Libertine
New Order: Brotherhood
Meat Puppets: II, Up On The Sun, and Mirage
Lynrd Skynrd: Street Survivors
STNNNG: Dignified Sissy and Fake Fake
Slint: Spiderland
the Cure: The Walk

Everything but the Silkworm and STNNNG records were used from my local record store. I spent more on the Libertine than I've spent on any other single record, but it makes up for the ridiculous deals I've gotten on everything else Silkworm related in Seattle.
