Re: Balls Effects / Balls Amplification
572A while ago I made a few full crazy size Italian fuzzes like so, and got a couple hints to make a few more that were more pedalboard friendly.
Enter the *regular* Italia. Hybrid silicon/germanium fuzz using a 2N2369 and Russian МП38А combo, biased appropriately. Lower gain, thick, & chewy. I've got a few of these so if there's any interest hit me up.

Re: Balls Effects / Balls Amplification
573Balls BF-2R! AB165 Bassman-based circuit with added reverb and bias wiggle tremolo. The back end is two ECL84 tubes, cathode-biased for ~2 watts. Gorgeous looking and sounding Jupiter 8SC 8" speaker. 17" x 13.5" x 7.75". Intended to be a house amp that sounds like bigger push-pull amp.

And by request, two footswiches in different orientation to fit pedalboards.

576What's the tone like on an 8" speaker? More compact I imagine?

579Depends what you're doing. An 8" speaker with a mic right in front of it can still sound huge. Plenty of Champs show up on records.losthighway wrote: Sun Mar 02, 2025 2:37 pm What's the tone like on an 8" speaker? More compact I imagine?
In a room, they sometimes can sound small and tight. Depends a lot on cabinet and baffle size though.
Re: Balls Effects / Balls Amplification
580Thanks yall!
Fully depends on the speaker, which ought to be obvious. This is my first experience with this Jupiter model but it was requested by the customer and I've gotta say i'm impressed. A lot of 8"s can sound overly bright but I found this one to do a nice job retaining low end. Sounds great and gets some nice break up. Plus it looks fantastic!
