Re: Politics
5872"United States President Donald Trump has called his ally’s trial a “witch-hunt”, hitting Brazil with 50 percent tariffs, imposing sanctions against the presiding judge Alexandre de Moraes and revoking visas for most members of Brazil’s high court. Trump said on Thursday that he was very unhappy about Bolsonaro’s conviction.
In a statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the US would “respond accordingly to this witch hunt”."
LOLZ.

It's a simple task to look at how the situation unfolded and come to the conclusion that the African-American community has fuck all to do with this, but on closer inspection it has everything to do with it from the perspective of white supremacy and how racists will exploit any dent in their armor to come after black people. The way MAGA is bending over to lionize Kirk is repulsive but unsurprising when you look at how they treated Limbaugh, or if one is slightly-familiar with the history of this country.
Chicago's not-very-distant history with nazis and how they were driven underground is about to become mainstream.

It’s never some “op”, in the end it’s almost always just some dude.

5875If Bolsanaro is guilty, it makes a precedent and Trump looks bad. This is why they will fight tooth and nail for this one stupid thing that millions will then suffer over.
I just hope Rubio gets tried for crimes against humanity.
Re: Politics
5876It's not ALWAYS "just some dude" but it OFTEN is, especially in America and within states that have lax gun laws.
Someone could do everything this guy did the other day without anyone else needing to put him up to it. There is no need to introduce outside parties and complex webs of political machinations that "go all the way to the top." It's a bit like the mindset of a homespun jihadist, only there doesn't even need to be a pretense of ideological motivation. The shooter could've simply been bored, desperate, angry, a clout chaser, or maybe he was just looking for a big enough "piece of game," or he didn't like dude's face. He doesn't have the build of someone who's been honorably discharged from the armed forces. Based on those screen grabs, he looks like run-of-the-mill college kid, not much older than twenty-five. He dumped the rifle, with his handwriting apparently all over it, at his earliest convenience with little forethought. His "ideology" may well be a word salad mishmash of this and that. Even once they catch him, if they reveal windows into his political disposition and it's consistent, there still won't be much to see here. Because beyond the target and his proximity to the president, and gruesome nature of the act, It's all typical stuff from a psychological standpoint.

5877Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-Fla.) proposed carving Trump into Mount Rushmore
Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.) proposed making Trump’s birthday a national holiday
Rep. Addison McDowell (R-N.C.) introduced a bill to rename Dulles Airport to Donald J. Trump International Airport.
There is a bill to rebrand the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority as “WMAGA” and call the Metro the Trump Train, from Rep. Greg Steube (R-Fla.).
A bill from Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) would put Trump on the $100 bill.
Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.) has a bill to create $250 bills with Trump’s portrait.

5880He was just some dude that worked for a billionaire funded political organisation. Killing anyone like this is obviously not something that should have happened but he’s not an important or serious person. The “national tragedy” narrative is sinister and weird.
He was a conspiracy theorist, white nationalist, anti woman’s rights, actively worked to make sexual minorities lives hell… nothing here is anything worth celebrating. But neither is murder.
