Every song on every record is very good, 90% of them go way beyond very good.
This band made me love music. I remember walking into a friends house, he was blasting 'waiting room' and jumping around. It sounded amazing to me, I had to know more about this band and this whole 'indie rock underground' he told me about.
I've seen Fugazi every show they've played in Chicago, 2 times in DC, once in Amsterdam, once in LA, once in San diego, twice in Milwaukee and they fucking blew me away like no other band ever has every time.

Guess you never picked up anything related to "common decency" or "intelligent interaction" at those shows, huh -- let alone "gender-politics" or "not being a lunkhead."

Oh well.

I have to say that Fugazi is one of my all time favorite bands. Their inventiveness and consistency is rivaled by few. I have seen them many times and have always enjoyed the live performance regardless of sound quality. One of the biggest reasons I love them is the fact that I can put on Repeater or In on the Kill Taker today and still enjoy them as much as I did 15 years ago. This lasting power is why my favorite bands are my favorite bands.

Fugazi....4 thumbs up.

Yes. Yes, this is pretty much what I was saying. Meanwhile, I love Faiz, in a strictly platonic fashion. Shoot.

Last time i saw Fugazi, probably 18 months ago they played a truly astounding set... Problem was that they requested that the house lights be left on... I found this a tad uncomfortable. I don't know why, i just did...

For what it's worth I think Foremans Dog on End hits is a song of memorable greatness...

Hurrah!

Gramsci, see that? Our club is growing!

Wow. I can't believe that I almost agree with this. I heard "Smallpox Champion" on kexp the other day and although I would never call Brendan Canty a "shite drummer", the drumming on that song is extremely boring and inconsistent. Still a great song.........I just have never listened to the drums like that before. Granted, the drum sound ain't all that happening either. Perhaps that's why he's playing the way he is?
Strange.

On second thought, he isn't terrible. It could be that the drums are badly recorded, I've yet to hear Fuguzi record where I like the drum sound... He's playing on Killtaker is better than most. It's just very rarely he hammers a really solid beat under the band. Don't get me wrong I like his jazzy noodling, but sometimes Fuguzi need some... well they just need a John Stanier, or Todd Trainer.

Most everyone using this forum has heard of this band Fugazi. Possibly for a number of reasons. Arguing things like sound quality, drumming, favorite record, etc.... is like trying to convince the world your favorite color is appliable to all. I bet most of you will never create the lasting impression as a band, a cause, a voice, or other idea you instilled truthfully or imagined as these guys. I say good work. If the sound is bad recorded or live, but you kept listening, then that says something in itself.
