the single for "hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me" by U2.

after that i got a columbia house membership. among the first however many there were:

rage against the machine- s/t
nine inch nails- the downward spiral
the crow soundtrack
natural born killers soundtrack
white zombie- la sexorcisto
nirvana- nevermind

fairly typical. at least i didn't get bush's first album, pearl jam, or stone temple pilots.

when my parents got me and my brother a cd player, they got us "green" by rem and "please hammer don't hurt 'em". they'd definitely seen me singing along to "stand" as an 8-year old. i now hate that song but i like the rest of the album.

the first album i asked for was probably arrested development. tennessee, tennesee.

the first album i went out and bought... i don't know. it might have been a nine inch nails maxi single.

The "Juice" Movie Soundtrack...

I loved that Naughty by Nature song "Uptown Anthem" at the time...I was about 11 or 12. I still hear it every once and a while, and as far as early 90's rap goes, I still think it is fairly good. Much better than Ludacris.

Those were all pretty much staples of the time. I didn't have WZ, but loved all of the rest that you mentioned.
Have you seen "The Crow" in the past 5 years? That was a horrible movie all around. Why was it so popular? Truly astounding. I guess we are talking about a bunch of 15 year olds that propped it up though.

first album I ever got was the blue album compilation of the Beatles. in fifth grade.
Life...life...I know it's got its ups and downs.
