What was the last band or album that excited you (old-new)?

I have, yeah... and while there were a few songs that really reached out and grabbed me.

I always felt they were one of those bands that were great live but never really could present that same brilliance in the studio.

Rally Day is the first record where I think they just totally nailed it dead on.

Then again, i've been meaning to pick up my own copies of those two records and give them second chances anyway, but I need to order them from Wantage I think, because Amoeba constantly seems to be out.

i have been listening to Big N, i bought in chicago from ruthless records for $2. it was recorded in a basement by buck naked. $2? what a great vacation!

Just had my iTunes on shuffle and came across Nozomi Phoenix. When my band was in NY last, we were supposed to play with them at Asterisk, but that was the same weekend it got shut down for all the graffitti. I would have loved to play with this band, because I was obsessed with their EP. They sound a little like Soundgarden (due to their singer sounding like Chris Cornell), but don't bore their music with grunge cliches. Just good, heavy music with a political vibe.
