I wonder if those are the same Islamic militants that his intelligence agency helped smuggle out of Afghanistan during the U.S. invasion and then sent to Kashmir to train to BECOME TERRORISTS.

Not as obvious as it should be, Condi. Physician, heal thyself. The hypocrisy of U.S. foreign policy has always been substantial, but this administration has taken it to such heights, all rhetoric and any of its potential leverage is just so much farting into the wind.
That Rice quote makes me want to set my house on fire. Jesus Shit, you have got to be fucking kidding me. Double fuck you in a fuck you.

vockins, put down that gasoline can.

From a White House press conference yesterday with WH Press Secretary Dana Perino regarding Pakistan:
Q: Is it ever reasonable to restrict constitutional freedoms in the name of fighting terrorism?

MS. PERINO: In our opinion, no.

Was there a follow up question? The video on thinkprogress ends with Perino's 'no'. Sounded like Bill Plante of CBS asking the question.

I only saw a clip of the conference on CrooksandLiars.com. She immediately went to another reporter (Mark?), who asked a somewhat irrelevant question about why Bush hadn't personally contacted Musharraff rather than conveying messages through Rice. Perino responded that conveying messages to other heads of state is exactly what the Sec. of State does, which is a reasonable answer to a relatively useless question, IMO. Frankly, the question in combination with the speed with which she called on that reporter reeks of a softball. I think she knew she could count whomever that was NOT to follow the thread about extra-constitutional measures and their supposed necessity to fight terrorism.
