At a bar. She was playing pool, she kinda knew the guy I was hanging out with, she said hello, spoke to me (and him, but mainly me).

The following weekend, I ran into her at another bar, she was playing pool again, I was speaking to her, she offered me a lift home cause I said I lived 10 minutes away. I actually lived about 30 minutes away.

Long story short, we started seeing each other. Three months later, I had to move out of my house, she had just bought a place, so I rented it off of her while she went to London for 6 months ( I knew she was going overseas, but I was too smitten to break up, so we stayed together).

We've been together for 5 1/2 years now. And no, she not some sort of pool playing hussy.

This was before that asshole Dr. Phil showed up in their commercials. I put an account up, poked around, didn't meet anyone--the only contact I received was from some asshole with a fake account trying to get people to pay for some porn site. This was awesome for my self esteem. So I left my account up there without the ability to contact anyone (which was free).

A few months later I just happened to check it again on a whim, and this cute girl that seemed pretty cool had expressed interest. We got in contact and eventually decided to go out. Our first date was to a Hot Snakes concert, and we had a blast, found out we had a ton of mutual interests, got along great. So we kept going out. Back then there was a lot more of a stigma to online dating so when anyone would ask us where we met I'd imediately say "MATCH.COM!" and both my girlfriend and the person that asked would get all embarrassed and it would be awkward. I got a big kick out of it.

That was just over three years ago, and (as posted elsewhere on the forum) we just got engaged.

Met her my sophomore year in hisgh school. I was 16, she was 13 and it was 1990. We dated for a month after my senior year, ut the age gape between 18 and 15 was too great, so after cheating on her with an ex-girlfriend, I broke up with her. We talked off and on over the next four years. Three months beore I finished college she came up to Athens to visit some friends of her ex-boyfriend who stood her up. She called me, we got coffee and she spent the night. We have been together ever since and are on 12 years together, 6 years married.

She's the best.

My girl hit on me through the Onion online personal thing. On our second date she called me asking where I was five minute before we were supposed to hang out. A woman after my own heart, we got engaged two years later.

i had just moved and was interested in meeting other people who partook in an outdoor activity i enjoy so i logged in to my myspace account for the first time in years (this was 3.5 years ago). i contacted her, said i was looking for someone to do this activity with and nothing more. and i meant it, i was not looking for a girlfriend, not even for sex. i'd seriously resigned myself to the hand for a while.

she had been caring for an elderly relative and to this day maintains that if not for her mental and physical exhaustion coupled with a week's sleep-debt she would not have agreed to meet me.

she had no description of herself and only listed that she liked this activity, photography, books, movies, and bruce lee. there was a very poorly taken picture of her doing this activity. i couldn't even tell what she looked like, only that she wasn't obese. so i literally knew very little about her.

we decided to meet to partake in this outdoor activity and told each other what cars we had so we could find one another.

upon her arriving i was riding my skateboard (away from my car) and watching others partake. she drove up and i knew it was her by her car but she did not know it was me. she smiled at me and me at her. i followed her (on my skateboard) back to her car as she happened to park next to my car. she then realized that i was who she was supposed to meet.

we had fun outdoors and had fish tacos for lunch. i didn't think she liked me that much and while i thought she was cool and good looking i didn't expect then to be married to her now.

she said that if i hadn't had the 400 blows and safe listed as favorite films, and that i liked green tea, she might not have agreed to meet at all.

On the way to a coordination meeting for a protest at the Nevada Nuclear Test Site, sophomore in college, I was high on coke & with another girl. I think we said "Hi" to each other.

Relationship with the other girl fell apart and next thing I know I'm seeing this chick from the protest hanging out at my friend's parties.

Our dorms were close to each other so we wind up drunk walking home late at night with each other a few times.

We find out we have a few things in common, mix tapes are exchanged.

We start dating. She goes on tour many times with a couple of my old bands as merch girl / only sane person in the van. She kicks much ass.

15 years of living in sin later, we decide to get married. 2 years legit & counting.

I was playing a show and I took home the best heckler. I didn't understand she was Irish until it was way too late.
