I agree with Masupilized on this one.
I do have a story to add from a older generation, No it’s not about Hubert Sumlin but it is similar.
Back in the late 80’s early 90’s a bunch of retired guys from around the area where my dad lives who had played in big bands most of whom moved on to other things had families and regular jobs now they were retired. Now that they were retired they started finding some of the other guys who they knew who played in other big bands. This was cause there were no big bands playing the kind of music they liked for dances and such. They got some press on the radio got to have a great time and do some pretty big shows. They sounded great too.
I saw Sun Ra’s bass player a couple of weeks back do a show. It was great he had to be well over 60-70?. Saw Keith Levine a couple of weeks back he is going on tour and was amazing.
