Well, I got a couple hours yesterday, and another few today to get the 4000 buttoned up.actually went pretty smoothly, once I moved the bridge back 3/8". Also got a start on my dust system and put a nice wedge of poplar on the tailblock of the acoustic. Next step- neck joint.

That bass looks pretty sweet. What pickup did you go with?

Your Ric type bass solves a lot of what I find to be difficult with them the single truss rod rather than two and a less fussy bridge.

Got a chance to play the bass last night- sounds amazing, plays nice. I'll give it a couple weeks under tension, etc to settle down,then will do a final setup. overall pleased with the results. I'll focus on wrapping up this acoustic build, then I have my eye on a couple projects:-I'd like to make myself a danelectro style guitar, but something more in the 335 shape. -I'd also like to make myself a clone of the ric 450 I had in my old band. Sold it, regret it, and now they cost like $100,000.

I know that Hipshot has also put out a replacement Ric bridge that addresses a lot of the issues of the original ones but doesn't require any extensive drilling or routing like a BadAss would.

I think at the time Geddy Lee was upgrading a Bad Ass was the coolest design around at the time. They certainly were great because they had a individual intonation and got out of the way of your hand.A friend of mine had a Ric custom shop bass which was black like this with red pinstriping like the batmobile which was about as cool as you could get.Great work you keep challenging yourself.

Fantastic. Body shape, though totally Rick, almost also recalls the Guild S-300 shape.
