The guitar tone SUCKS ASS and the playing is way too showy form my tastes. I can't hate on it though. BUT, that last section is rad AF and definitely something I've never heard before. The whole first section is just over the top classical music inspired guitar playing to me. Just a slightly different flavor than I've seen the other hundreds of times.
It all just sounds lie they were running all their guitar bootcamp shit their shred calisthenics teacher makes them do and oneof them said..."Hey, if we just play al these back to back we have a record!" There is almost no music in it to my ears, just wheelies. It's more like listening people brag about playing guitars than listening to music. I hated Satch and Vai, and all those horseshit speed solo dudes too, so maybe I'm biased. If I want to watch dudes jerk off I have some browser links for that.

Steve guests on a new Polyphia tune.

There's more notes in that song than Miles played in his whole career.

To be fair he dressed great for the preceding 30 years of his career, and he did humor us by coordinating his red trumpet with his clown clothes. More importantly, those 80's records were irredeemable Fatburgeresque pap anyhow. I don't see any way to salvage that particular part of his legacy. Any excuse to post this.

You really can't shit on Miles. He invented fusion but can't be blamed for what it became. It's like how Killing Joke gave in and started sounding like (a better) Ministry on Extremities.

Yep. Stylish mofo.

Also yep. But hey if you'd spent the previous half-decade on an Olympic level coke bender you probably wouldn't be at your best either.

Anyway I saw the thumbnail for this in that (classic!) door video:

And I've watched that before. What's the PRF think of that guitar playing? Cause that's my kinda playing. Assertive rhythm yessir.

The potent combination of offset guitar and Japanese schoolgirl fetishes might result in some hanging chads here, so I don't think you'll get an exact tally, but this sounds like standard Dragonforcey J-pop polish applied to Bo Diddley-beat garage rokku. Technically adept, but lacking in groove and swing. But she's covering an obnoxious song from an Anime, so the source material is a bit of a constraint here. Well done regardless.

I see the Jazzmaster's confounded bridge has been dealt with.

I imagine it would feel weird to play guitar with your cardie sleeve pulled way down over your strumming hand like that.

Ain't no Kuzuha. That's for sure.
