Re: Best Food In Chicago
62Been checking out a few spots over the last few months.
Mister Tiger
New-ish fancy Korean spot on Grand. It's FANTASTIC. Everything we ate was nothing short of phenomenal. Don't sleep on the galbi jjim.
Mano a Mano
Pasta spot in Logan that's constantly playing 70s hard rock classics (last visit, 2 Bob Seger songs, 2 Led Zeppelin songs, 1 Van Halen song.) Generally good and low-key (especially after Daisies in Logan dropped the ball big time last year.) I'll say that the "Spaghetti Sunday" option may appear enticing, but it's not worth the price. Pasta is great though.
Kurumaya
Okay, not IN Chicago (Elk Grove Village), but this is consistently the best Japanese food I've had in the area. Ask for the off-menu katsukarē - you won't regret it.

63Dammit.
Because of the risk at the border we’ve cancelled any future travel to the States.
This thread was something I was salivating over. We had a New York then Chicago trip planned next summer. Now going to Japan.

64Man, Virtue is goooooood. I'm not sure I've had a more enjoyable meal in Chicago which is saying a lot. Great atmosphere also. Can't wait to go back.four_oclocker_2.2 wrote: Tue Jan 14, 2025 12:50 pmStill haven't been to Virtue, but I really enjoyed Daisy's!

68I am taking the wife here tonight per this suggestion. Since being back from Japan none of the spots have been hitting, this looks like it could turn the tide.four_oclocker_2.2 wrote: Mon Jun 02, 2025 10:42 pm Kurumaya
