I think where we go should depend on where the out-of-towners are laying down their sweet heads. If you guys are crashing in Manhattan or western Brooklyn, we should go to one of the good joints in Manhattan.
I have no preference 'cause I roll in style regardless of borough.

Maybe we can do sort of a bar crawl? I'd like to check out a few places, if that's at all possible and/or convenient.

Don't give a fuck.
Perhaps one of the more unique to NYC establishments. Subway Inn, Holiday.

The neighborhoods where I could certainly facilitate this are the East Village and downtown Brooklyn. The Village is easy; downtown Brooklyn we could do the Last Exit, the Waterfront Ale House, Magnetic Fields and...whatever that one is that has indoor bocci ball, if it's still there. Those bars are all on a 2-block strip.

That bar crawl on Atlantic in Brooklyn isn't a bad idea. Magnetic Field is a great bar. (And since that's mere minutes from my abode, I could selfishly vote for that one.)
But ditto for the Village. So I say leave it to the Colonel and ERawk to decide between those two based on their accomodations/itinerary.

Perhaps we could do both?
ERawk is too busy to post from work these days (haw haw!) but she'll have to have the final say in this. After all, she's hosting my visit.
Once we get our plans somewhat finalized, I'll PM everyone in the NYC area to let them know the time & place for the meetup.
