With the future of 'Bandcamp as a platform worth supporting'* up in the air, plus the need for web projects to keep my skills sharp, I created a personal discography page. Not 100% complete, but there's a lot there, probably more than anyone wants. Consider it "on the house" for PRF people, freely download some stuff if yr interested, thanks!

*edit: yep, they just laid off a ton of people, I suspect I'll be slowly phasing out some BC releases.

This is an album that my band handturner put out late 2023. I lost my old login information, sorry!

Sometimes you work yourself into a shoot!

Hi all. I want to share the latest music I am releasing, but some background info first.
Prior to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, I was a long-term expat residing in Moscow, involved in various musical projects, the main one being Phenolhouse (phenolhouse.bandcamp.com - Minutemen with blastbeats is a good description of a lot of our stuff). The start of the war more or less meant the end of band as our bassist, who was Ukrainian, fled the country and I got out temporarily, alternating between Canada and Tbilisi, Georgia. Managed to start a new two man band HeatSheet with the drummer and recorded some EPs at our rehearsal space when I was in town.
Went back to Russia last year to basically close up shop (marrying my partner, dealing apartment and money stuff etc) and record a final album with the drummer before finally resettling permanently in Canada.

So, we've just released this nine song thing. Melodic noise rock in the vein of Vaz, Polvo and one of NIck Sakes' many bands. Recorded, mixed and mastered by our friend Stas and art by London-based illustrator Maksim Frolov.

Edit: also the final Phenolhouse release can be found here too:

Hey there PRF people.

Maybe this new tape / Bandcamp download I just released will be of interest?

It's instrumental guitar / synth / beat / experimental / electronic stuff influenced by Scorn "Evanescence" / CAN / Head of David / and other oddball stuff. You might like it if you got into my old band Diamond Cult from the first PRF Lake of Fake LP and / or Dead World.

Info here: https://malsonus.wordpress.com/2024/01/ ... lable-now/

Thanks. -Jonathan

Here's a new album by Floating Cave (Drew from New Standards Men). It's fucking lovely and I love it a lot. I played some drums and prepared percussion on this thing, and it turned out better than I could have hoped.

I played this Dead Meadow cover in a set over the weekend. It's something I've messed around with at home over the years (as it's basic 12 bar blues in a non-obvious way) but figured it would be meaningful to play it live after the passing of founding member Steve Kille. I won't do anything further with it so here it is:

There's some accidental flange due to audio time sync issues I can't figure out but I kind of like it.
