Les Rallizes Denudes = massively Not Crap, by official EA vote of 1-0. Le 12 Mars 1977 a Tachikawa is the one I've got. MUST OWN: Heavier Than A Death In The Family; good luck finding a copy.

My knowledge of Japanese music is spotty and miscellaneous. Standout tracks for me so far: Boredoms' "Boriginal" from Super Roots 7 (an homage to Mekons' "Where Were You" that morphs into a 20-minute kraut-space-rock opus -- you have GOT to hear this, if you haven't already!), High Rise's "Ikon" (very Black Sabbath-circa-"Supernaut"-esque, an excellent thing), and "Be Sure To Loop" by OOIOO (an even more motorik offshoot of Boredoms -- I think Yoshimi is in the band). Oh, and I like Melt-Banana's cover of "We Will Rock You" a lot.

I'm probably going to see Boris, along with SunnO))) or whatever they're called, in a month or two when they come to town.

edit: How could I have forgotten Guitar Wolf's "Jet Generation"? JET OK!

I'll throw my hat in for Bleach or Bleach Mobile (I've heard them called either).

Saw them opening for Victim's Family and they pretty much matched VF for live intensity. It's straight up rock and the chicks in that band don't care for their own physical safety. I appreciate bands that rock out to a level that physically endangers them.

That's not entirely true.

They're awesome! The Bleachmobile/Bleach03 thing is for the states, because some Christian Rock band called Bleach objected, as name confusion had resulted in a number of hilarious Amazon reviews by confused and terrified Christians.

-Truly dorky dudes.
-The guy has a voice like HOLY SHIT. I wish I could scream like that.
