I went to Stavenger in Norway this weekend and it was lovely. Here's us 800m above a fjord on Pulpit Rock. I'm in the front trying to pretend that I'm not shitting myself. The Norwegian girl who took the photo told me to try harder at smiling. Fail again, fail better.
Vertigo, rain, wind, illness, vertigo, cowardice and vertigo made me chicken out half an hour into the four round hour trek/climb the previous day on much harsher terrain to a boulder suspended 1,000m metres above the same fjord. However, my braver friends Andy and James made it:
You need to crawl a few metres on a metre-wide ledge sloping down to a sheer drop to get to the boulder. Not easy with the view and a wet granite surface. After the last photo, Andy reportedly proceeded to jump up and down. Lunatic. I wish I could've made it, but fuck, no way.
