Verbs & Nouns wrote:Looks like an original Kramer case, strange that it has no neck rest in there. It is and it does, it just doesn't work well. There's some kind of strap up near there that's busted, maybe that's it?

My DMZ2000 lives its original case. There's a very shallow, 100% ineffective depression for the neck to rest in and slide out of as soon as the case is turned on its side. No strap or evidence that there ever was one.

My bass was made of Bubinga, so that's another wood they used.

Never been a huge fan of these axes, I don't miss my old one. I don't even think they are good value for money these days. That said, they are very tough instruments, which is a good thing for sure. Don't sound great, but tough. Each to their own I guess.

I have an inexplicable/ irrational desire for one that would likely be overcome by some hard truthsI have a Kramer The Duke bass. Its short scale, has a decent variety of tone, and excellent sustain. I doubt you can make it sound wooden and plucky, but if bright and chimey is what you want this will do the trick. Its also the cheapest metal neck you could ever hope to score these days. The one I bought 5 years ago was about $200 or so.

Snagged the bass from a dude in White Drugs. I'm not into P-Basses or stickers, but this thing sounds great and is comfortable as hell. We used to get ripped then take it out at the end of practice sometimes and plink around on the one string that was left on it. It had that thing they tend to do with the wood sticking out pretty bad out of the aluminum but he's done something to this one to make it go away.
