Sounds like you didnt know them very well.

Nah. he died before I got a chance.

No, that was an exaggeration.
but at least the heroin addict got out and went to shows and did stuff, you know?

I've played the game a little. Lost interest quickly. Not enough player killing.

Going to shows is overrated.

But yeah, I understand.

Clearly you needed to be on a PVP server.

I am a nerd.

Yeah. No.
My problem with the game is there are no real consequences from dying.
You don't lose any money or skills or equipment. There's no sense of self preservation.

More to the point, I really do feel like I've wasted really really wasted X amount of hours in my week when I play an online game like that.

I like to play Civilization. I play a few hours a week. It's a fine game. It gets the job done.

Yep. And I thought about starting a thread a la the EA Scrabble Club thread, but ultimately (unwisely? wisely?) decided against it.

But, y'know, if anyone wants to add me to their friends list, my gamertag is Falserumor.

not crap, entirely -- but definitely most of the time. i have an open mind, but video games, in general, are such a drain. i wish there was a video game equivalent of a cassavetes film, or a hemingway book, or something that might impell a person to think, or even... feel. most modern games seem to have been designed by people largely informed by crap culture. when i play these games i just feel like i'm navigating a commercial.

then again, the last system i bought was super nintendo. and i suppose i have some sorta fear of buying a new system and actually, really liking it, i'm not too cool for school, i just think i'm already pushing my luck with my current interests. i'm absent minded and easily distracted. it seems putting video games on top of everything would be trouble.

NC w/a waffle factor of 9.

I wasted a lot of last week playing Half-Life 2. Great game. I would play more Ninja Gaiden but I'm sure I would end up throwing my Xbox off the top of my house in frustration.
