I'm glad, cause I totally agree with your assessment of the officiating in the Rangers/Penguins game this evening.

Either one is preferable to the pre-realignment scheme of the top 4 in each division advancing, allowing a sub-.500 team to get in the playoffs and in the case of the '91 North Stars advancing to the Finals.
Oh, hell yeah. Actually, I think we have too many teams making the playoffs anyway. While I love playoff hockey and, therefore, won't really complain about more games, really I think we should have the winner of each division, and the next best team in the Conference as a Wild Card. But, whatever.
What are the queers doing to the soil?

hmm... brashear had a great series in the caps series. That 4th line almost won the series for them.

I like laraque. he's a mean sunofabitch, but for the most part he seems pretty clean. he's no ruutu.

I didn't mean that the league should favor large markets, I just meant that it would make sense if they did. I hope they don't.

Flyers didn't get robbed on Thursday, neither team looked all that great. It was like an okay regular season game that the crowd wasn't feeling all that much. The Flyers played like they were exhausted and pissy, and the Canadiens couldn't make their passes connect for shit. Philadelphia did look like they were better prepared for the game; Carbonneau had better show up tonight with some kind of fucking strategy in place other than endlessly reshuffling the lines.

yeah, there's a little uproar over the officiating, but the high stick goal was going in anyways. The one that is a little iffy was the bad call on richards, but it looked like a trip to me and only a replay revealed it was a solid shoulder check. the canadiens hit a couple posts so, in my mind they weren't robbed either, but I just wanted to see what semi-impartial people think. for the most part it seems like everyone here hates the flyers.

thing about the east is that it seems like all the teams had a streak where they looked unbeatable and have also slumped where it looked like they couldn't beat a NCAA team.

The Sharks deserve to lose at this point. Kudos to Nabby for being the only member of the team to pull himself together tonight and perform adequately after an embarrassing loss on Sunday and equally unnecessary defeat tonight.

I'm hoping the Wings take it this year, if the Sharks cannot. I hate the East Coast. God, do I hate the East Coast....
