Had to say goodbye to my sweet Charlie last week. He was a rescue dog and my friend for 12 years. It feels like there's a big hole in the center of my life.

Very sorry to hear, and excellent looking and sounding friend. Kudos for you taking in a "difficult" rescue and putting in the work. There are so many good dogs out there that just need a little extra effort to become our best pals.

I've think of pets, and especially the loss of one, as defining these eras of our lives, and I've spent a lot of time thinking of the last 12 years and what's all happened and what's changed. I wasn't really ready to reflect on all that.

Ah, sorry to hear of that twelvepoint. Charlie seems like he was a great dog. Cute creature!

The idea of a contextualizing events through the prism of a dog's life is very relatable. A lot can happen in that time. I don't doubt reflecting on it is poignant.

He's eleven. Great company--the best--but high maintenance!!

Adopted this little guy a few weeks back. His parents are separating and for some reason that means they've rehoused the dogs. Idiots. Anyway, their loss. Alfons is great.
