Have you wanted sugar lately? I remember when I gave up alcohol, I wanted cake again for the first time in years.

Fuck yeah! In fact I've never had much of a sweet tooth, but since I stopped boozing I've found that a little sugar will set me off wanting more. No good, no good.

It's the "unspoken" connection of alcoholism and diabetes.

Nice... luckily I quit drinking eleven years ago. I also stopped wanting cake after awhile, the desire will pass.

It will be easy to quit drinking if you move to Illinois.

In Illinois, you can't drink alcohol in bars as of January 1, 2008.

Is this shit for real? If so, how have the first three months been?

I noticed this also.

I however have solved the problem

I've drank like a twat a couple of times in the last fortnight.

I must leap back on the wagon before it trundles on up the lane.

Yeah, you're not getting the massive amts of sugar and other carbs from booze any more. You're craving them.

A lot of people gain weight like a bastard when they quit drinking.

Many of them turn to smoking or ramp up their smoking, both as a replacement buzz and as a way to keep from eating too much. And to satisfy their oral fixation, probably, since they're not guzzling booze.

Obviously, smoking is not very good for you.

If you make a concerted effort to eat enough protein (meat, beans, nuts), that will help make sure you don't substitute carb-loading for drinking, in the 'rush' category. And it will keep you from blowin' up too much.

Good luck.

Yeah, I'm not going back to smoking- I quit last year, which was part of the inspiration for quitting the sauce too.

I may have to start sucking on more tits.

Well I started the Master Cleanse today, so that should help sharpen my resolve.

FUCK! I'm going to take a breather so I can loose weight. Way to put me right off that wagon as I climb up the ladder. :)
