it's true!

one of maybe 10 times where i experienced true resentment regarding my race. it was weird. a couple girlfriends and i were at a club. there was a corner where all the rockabilly dudes hung out. i didn't know these guys were former skinheads, i didn't know much about that stuff. my girlfriends ended up talking to them and made plans to go to waffle house with a couple of them afterwards. when we got to waffle house one of them seemed offended they brought their asian friend and ignored me the whole night, even though we were sitting across from each other and there were only like 5 of us. i mean, a heavy loaded ignore. the other had just moved into town and i think was into rockabilly for the aesthetic and didn't know about the ex-skinhead factor. by the end of the night, of course, i had won the racist over and we even made plans to go see this carnie town 20 or so minutes away. the next time i saw him was at the club again and he was in the corner with his cool rockabilly friends. i waved but he would not even look at me. a few weeks later i met a guy who hung out with that crowd... this guy was half jewish but had to keep it a secret from his friends because, as it turned out, they all really were incredibly racist. yet, in public jew-boy wouldn't look at me either.

this may have been an isolated case of ex-skinhead rockabilly clique, but still weird beard.
