Oh, this is a really good C/NC band.

For me it's no contest because I love their good records so much. These would be both s/t records, "Twin Infinitives" (all time classic), "Cats and Dogs," the amazing collected singles box, the baffling "Hand of Glory"...

When they signed to Virgin and went "boogie" I had to bow out.

Jennifer Herrema is one of my rock heroes.

NOT CRAP.

Not many rock bands pulled of that kind of open ended stuff so well without it becoming a free for all. I once saw RT play three nights in a row, same basic set list, same venue, same line up and the three nights were like watching three different freaking amazing bands. It was stunning, jaw dropping.

.....and not crap.

Dylan- Listen to any of the records I listed above. You are free to not like them, but if after listening to any of them you think they are "boring boring boring guitar rock" I'll give you $1 American.

I also will give you one dollar like Mr. Jung. So that makes two dollars. That must be worth it to go back and listen to those records, right?

Actually I am so surprised you do not like them in any way Dylan. Cheer Accident, while not being anything like Royal Trux seems to share some of the same...intentions? Um...sonic points of view?...ah crap! I have no idea what I am trying to say but I really just mean I would think that someone from Cheer Accident would enjoy RT, that's all. I certainly enjoy both bands.

Sorry, I've been up all day....

Mayfair, Angus:

Well, I'm not above saying that I've been wrong. Admittedly, it's been a while and so, with the promise of $2 hanging over my head (by the way, that's per album right?) I will try to seek out someone who has their stuff and give it a second chance.

Fair warning: I have very few friends here in New Orleans. It might take some time, but I will get back to you. Keep those bills warm for me.

You drive a hard bargain! OK, I'll supply $1 per LP. Angus, you in?

Dylan, what are you doing in New Orleans?

I finally got a copy of one of the self-titled albums. I don't have the cover, but the songs start out "Air", "More"(sp?), "Hallucinator", "Junkie Nurse", etc.

Okay, so not boring, but I got a little tired of the affected incompetence after a while. My wife brought up The Shaggs, and it made me do some serious soul-searching as to what I didn't like about RT. I liked a few moments, but overall it seemed like a lot of musical meandering in a blues-based idiom. I don't want to shit all over everyone's good vibes, though, man. We had money on this deal, but I'll call it even. You guys got me to give 'em another chance and that's worth something.

On a side note: when they played an in-store at the record store I worked at, Jennifer broke the toilet seat. Cracked it in two.
