He's just being honest to his faith. His love of nukes is... unfortunate. However I wouldn't worry too much, if he gets too giggy on the nukes you'll be seeing Israeli fighter-bombers streaming across the boarder and reducing Iran's nuclear programme back to the stone age quicker than you can say “Oy Gevalt!”

I'd be more shaken by him if he ran anything. Khamanei recently reined him a bit domestically.

But I think bob's right in his prediction above. It's easily taken out of context of the Non-Aligned Movement meeting and inflated to the point of hysteria (not that Ahmadenijad is ever terribly far from hysteria).

If he's so against these big powers waving their weapons around bullying everyone why does he have such a hard on to make Iran a big power with weapons they can wave around and bully everyone with?

dunno, maybe it has something to do with a certain country far, far away invading all its neighbors, surrounding it & constantly threatening to attack it. just a thought. & maybe the fact that they've seen nuclear weapons work as a deterrent to just such an illegal invasion for north korea & pakistan.
