Currently decorating my new flat. I have no idea what to hang on the walls. I know it seems obvious that I should put things I like up but I don't have many preferences with regards to paintings/photos.
I don't want posters. Not in the main rooms at least.
My mom has offered me her collection of Monets that she recently took down. Monet seems to be the default for people who buy art at megastores.
I considered blowing up and framing photos of some of my favourite musicians but I'm not much into hero worship. I love Nick Cave but do I need to look at him every day?
I thought the cool and smart people of EA probably have interesting things hanging on their walls. So spill it, wise guy.

Go to the thrift store. There is a lot of really weird art to be found.

When in doubt, remember: Bosch is the new Monet.

I have a bunch of
Steve Keene paintings. Most are his album cover paintings, but I have a few of the larger ones. Sadly, the one I had of the Brooklyn Bridge with the Steely Dan quote was taken by one of my houseguests.
In addition to those, I have a painting of Hank Williams (by Jon Langford) that I love dearly. An Archer Prewett Funny Bunny in Chicago silkscreen print. A Brannock Device, a Dont Walk sign (sic), my seat from the first crew boat I ever rowed in, A Skin Graft Irritational poster, a Pine Tar .406 poster.
I also have some of my photographs, but that's because I can't figure out where to store them.
Probably more than you wanted to know.

I know you said you didn't want posters, but I pulled an end-around once that really cut costs.
allposters.com has a million things from crappy college posters to art prints, etc. They're pretty cheap compared to a store that specializes in prints. Then, you can either matte them yourself, have it done, or just buy the framing materials and skip the mattes all together. I got 3 rooms done for about $100 which was pretty nice.

I've printed out every single forum post by Matthew and clocker bob and have pasted them all around my house.
I'm surrounded by religious conspiracy theories. It's a good life, a simple life.
