Everyone seems to read this site yet everyone claims to hate it. They’re not worthy of hatred, and in the absence of other daily music news sites I guess I’ll say not crap even though the site is pretty crappy and I’d like to crap on it.

** Note** Anyone recommend any other music news/reviews/interviews sites?

And there was a poll attached, too.

To reiterate: the writing is annoying, but I'm stuck in New Orleans, so any port in a storm if you get my drift.

If you wanna get any useful information out of a Pitchfork review, what I find works well is to start reading on the third paragraph. The first two are almost always over-labored fluff used as an intro to the epic analogy they're about to make. Hope that helps.

Whoa. I see now in the Crap / Not Crap thread for this that someone else had noticed the "first two paragraphs" thing as well.

Funny.

I read this site and enjoy the writing, but Pitchfork is still of little use to me. I wish they would cover more rock/punk stuff and less indie-folk, IDM, and mainstream "alternative" bullshit.
