i find this band to be hugely overated. all of their albums have had what I call "moments," but nothing totally mindblowing. for my money i'd much rather listen to a black dice record...or wolf eyes...or led zep.
so i guess crap

Those guys are from my general area. Two of the guys were in a band called The Cartels and the other two were from a group called Automine.

On this totally separate poll, the one I started, I think I will pretend to dislike the Animal Collective.
Animal Collective = CRAP.

still not crap, but i saw htem live last night and they were crap.
no dynamics, indiscernible melodies, a wash of noise... ain't nothing compared to their recordings.

NOT CRAP if only for Here Comes the Indian.
Sung Tongs was a little "ehh"y, but good in parts.
I haven't gotten the feel for Feels, though i've listened to it a number of times... just doesn't do anything.

eggo chocolate chip, a scoop of ice cream, slice of butter & drizzle of syrup

I agree, it seems like they've worn their welcome but a friend played me some live bootleg stuff that was just flat out awesome. I have no idea how old the tracks were so these may be old songs that will never see the light of day.

Just got home from seeing them and they were good for the most part but the venue sucked.
I was actually surprised at how faithful they were to some of the material because I wasn't too sure if they would've been able to pull
I would've liked them more if I saw them at a club I didn't loathe.
